Introduction
The property of Talyala was provided to the company as a gift by the previous joint owners. Bushland Conservation is privileged to have been chosen to take over the responsibility for managing this significant area of natural bushland and the associated Heritage agreement. The company has a history of managing similar properties for conservation and out values are well aligned with those of the previous Talyala owners.
C.P. one of the previous co-owners worked tirelessly for more than two years to bring about this transfer. She worked with our new neighbour R.K. on putting an easement in place to enable more convenient and secure access via their property to Talyala. R.K.’s co-operation in enabling this to happen is much appreciated as access was one of the issues Bushland Conservation was concerned about.
The property has been largely self managed under its existing management plan but Bushland Conservation now has the opportunity to survey the property and consider any further opportunities to enhance its conservation value. The company is fortunate to have the White family willing to commit to the management of the property. There is also a substantial depth of experience and willing volunteers within the company to provide support.
Talyala is a significant opportunity for Bushland Conservation to build on its charter of acquiring and protecting natural bushland for conservation. We are indebted to the previous joint owners of the gift of Talyala and will endeavour to ensure that the property continues to be preserved in its natural state in perpetuity.
The transfer of the title for the Talyala property to Bushland Conservation was finalised 14/08/2024
